Iran Supplies Gas to Pertamina


Pertamina received gas supplies for the first time from Iran as much as 44,000 metric tons at the Port of Kalbut, Situbondo, East Java. The gas supply is the result of cooperation with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), an Iranian-owned oil and gas company that was pioneered some time ago.

Until 2017, Pertamina will receive gas supplies of up to 600,000 metric tons from Iran.

"This is a new round of Indonesian cooperation with Iran in the oil and gas sector," said Pertamina President Director Dwi Soetjipto.

In addition to purchasing gas, the two parties have also signed a memorandum of understanding related to the initial study of two giant oil fields in Iran.
