Spread the Bee House on the Stomach of the Earth

The region of East Java (Jatim) is still a potential beehive. New wells give hope to increase petroleum reserves. Provide supply for domestic needs to generate energy.

Pangkah Block, Bojonegoro Block, Madura Block until Sidoarjo are promising integrated oil and gas areas. The dawn just finished reverberating. The sea breeze was blowing so hard. Get in and crawl on the surface of the shirt. The water waves are still high.

From a distance, on the east side dawn slowly appeared on the surface. Aboard the Hilong 106 Installation Ship, the presence of dawn has always been an entertainment that never gets bored off the sea. The workers at Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) have prepared rope ties.

A large pipe inscribed with a row of white numbers was near the bridge. Some others are still busy with collecting welding tools that are ready to be worked on. The cool dew still hadn't dripped on the surface of the orange bridge pipe.

Sri Budiyani

Sri Budiyani was still fixing her glasses when the tugboat carrying her from Gresik leaned next to the Hilong 106 Installation Ship. The big waves kept her hands on the rope. Buoys have been worn along with a safe helmet attached to the head. The personal basket that is lifted by the crane machine directly descends from above.

The place for transferring workers from the tugboat to the large ship can contain a maximum of six people. Hands clenching tightly on the hook to quickly get on the deck of the boat through the personal basketball. The movements are very thrilling when the rope is lifted up. The waters that are located on the border of three regions, Surabaya, Gresik, and Madura, have enormous potential to obtain petroleum.

Arriving at the surface of the ship, Sri immediately saw for a moment the development of the new platform that was blocked by West Madura Offshore (WMO). There are four people who are already on the offshore PHE platform that will suck up the oil.

"The additions in PHE-24 and PHE-12 g can extend the breadth of oil and gas production in 2017," said Sri.

The General Manager of PHE WMO immediately went up to the fourth floor in the shipping area. The rows of tables are still clean with piles of milk, juice, and some chili sauce. A plate of salad was taken immediately. Potato salad is a breakfast menu for upstream energy workers. Next to him, a potogan of fried meat and fish accompany them.

"The EPC-1 project at PHE WMO can increase production by 5,000 ~ 7,000 barrels gradually every three months for the next 5 years. This is important for petroleum reserves in Indonesia, "said Sri Budiyani.

PHE WMO oil and gas production targets until the end of 2016 reached 9,300 BPD and 102.6 MMSCFD. Therefore, the rate of decline in natural products in the WMO Block, which has been on average in the last 3 years, has reached 50-60% per year, can be continuously suppressed. This year, through a careful well-maintenance program and production optimization, the rate of decline in natural products can be held up to 10%.

"The current offshore oil and gas platform installation activity shows Pertamina is capable of working offshore," said Sri Budiyani.

This WMO block is very special. This is because it is the first time in historical records that offshore work has used domestic products. All the equipment up to the platform used is the work of Indonesian children.

"All the workers are also not from abroad anymore. This is purely from within the country, ”.

Domestic Content Independence in the search for energy sources is very important for the sustainability of national energy in the coming years. Moreover, there is a high effort to create and install it yourself. The composition of the level of domestic content (TKDN) in the integration area in the WMO Block is 61.8%, one of which was appointed PT Timas and Guna Nusa for the construction process.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Dwi Soetjipto explained that the use of local materials in energy infrastructure development is very important to do at this time. The reason is, this step leads to efficiency from the government plus the falling world oil price.

"This is a promising step.

So this decision is very profitable and costs incurred can be trimmed, "said the former President Director of Semen Indonesia.

The continuous search for new wells makes hope in managing national energy independence. The integrated area in the WMO Block provides hope for oil and gas reserves in Indonesia. The construction of offshore platforms is part of Pertamina's efforts to increase its contribution to 40% of national oil production by 2019.
