PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk. targets to distribute 1,902 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMscfd), an increase of 20% compared to the realization in 2015 of 1,591 MMscfd. The target for the increase in gas distribution can be carried out after the gas issuer, coded as PGAS, is able to complete the 1,680 km gas pipeline project by 2019.
The length of the company's gas pipeline is currently around 7,200 km. If the gas pipe retention target is achieved, the total length of PGN's pipeline in 2019 will reach 8,656 km.
"All gas pipelines are built with PGN's own investment without relying on the state budget," said PGN Corporate Secretary Heri Yusup. Heri added that the company targets the total length of gas pipelines in 2019 to reach 8,656 km.
The addition of the gas infrastructure can increase the ability to utilize natural gas by 1,902 million cubic feet per day (MMscfd). Some of these projects include the Duri-Dumai transmission pipeline, the Muara Bekasi-Semarang transmission pipeline. In addition to the transmission pipeline project that can be accessed by all parties or open access, PGN is also working on the Batam (Nagoya) WNTS-Pemping distribution pipe and natural gas distribution pipelines in other areas.
"We continue to build natural gas infrastructure in various regions in Indonesia. The main objective is one, namely so that natural gas, especially domestically produced, is environmentally friendly, efficient and safe and can easily be enjoyed by the wider community. "
According to Heri, to date, the total length of pipelines built and operated by the company has reached more than 7,200 km.
"With the length of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines, PGN operates more than 78% of downstream natural gas pipelines throughout Indonesia."
This year, PGN has completed the construction of an 18.3 km gas pipeline in Batam. PGAS has also completed a 15 km gas pipeline project for the Kejayan-Purwosari section. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo welcomed PGN's readiness to build a household gas network in Central Java. He emphasized that the Central Java provincial government will provide support to PGN to realize gas infrastructure development in the region. PGN supplies gas to hospitals in Jakarta.
One of them is the Central Army Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta. PGN's Sales Area Head for Jakarta, Sabaruddin, said that there are 10 hospitals in Jakarta that have been using natural gas from PGN for years, one of which is the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.
"For 30 years the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital has used natural gas from PGN, one of which is to cook food for patients, nurses, and doctors."
According to him, PGN will provide special services to hospitals that receive gas supplies and the company in the form of inspection, maintenance of leak tests with a methane detector, arrangement of customer work equipment, and painting of gas pipes belonging to hospital customers. Apart from RSPAD Gatot Subroto, PGN also provides this special service to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Santo Carolus Hospital, Thamrin Hospital, Bunda Hospital, Jakarta Hospital, Tebet Hospital, and YPK Mandiri Hospital.
