PT Pertamina's oil and gas production increased in 2017. The addition of oil production by 3,000 barrels per day and 15 MMSCFD of gas was from the offshore oil platform in the oil and gas region southwestern Madura, East Java.
The offshore oil platforms PHE-24 and PHE-12 are managed by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE-WMO). Platform construction is part of the first phase of an integrated field or called Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC-1) Project in the PHE-WMO working area.
Dwi Soetjipto
Pertamina President Director Dwi Soetjipto inaugurated the installation of the oil platform off the northwest coast of Bangkalan, Madura, East Java.
"With this integrated field development, Pertamina is trying to increase the contribution of national oil production to 40 percent in 2019. At present, Pertamina's contribution is around 23 percent of national oil production which reaches 830,000 barrels per day.
The offshore platforms PHE-24 and PHE-12 are two facilities for the development of an integrated EPC-1 field. The two platforms will be installed around 70 meters above sea level. Both platforms will be equipped with Central Processing Platform 2 (CPP 2), a platform that functions to process the oil and gas that has been taken.
The CPP 2 facility is built in Cilegon, Banten, and will be taken to the EPC-1 integrated field site in mid-October. The facility is targeted to be installed offshore in late November.
According to Soetjipto, the integrated field began to flow around 1,000 barrels of oil per day in February 2017. In May 2012 production peaked at 3,000 barrels per day. For gas production, the integrated field began to produce 10 MMSCFD in June 2012 which increased to 15 MMSCFD in July 2017.
Sri Budiyani
PHE-WMO General Manager Sri Budiyani said this year's working area targeted production of 9,300 barrels of oil per day and gas of 102.6 MMSCFD.
