Operator minyak dan gas bumi Lapangan Banyu Urip Blok Cepu, EXXon,Mobil Cepu (EMCL) memasang alat pendeteksi gas di Balai Desa Mojodelik, Kecamatan Gayam, Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Dimana empat alat sensor canggih itu nampak terpasang di atas bangunan balai desa dan di parkiran. Perwakilan EMCL Ukay Subqy mengatakan Alat ini sudah kami pasang sejak Kamis lalu. Ukay menjelaskan, alat tersebut adalah Wireless H2S & SO2 Detector, berupa dua sensor gas hidrogen sulfida (H2S) dan dua sensor gas sulfur dioksida (SO2).
Keempat sensor tersebut terhubung secara nirkabel ke sebuah central monitor yang dipasang di dinding balai desa. Sensornya total 4 buah, 2 sensor yang terdiri dari 1 sensor HQS Serta 1 sensor SO2 diletakan di atas balai desa. Sedangkan 1 sensor H2S dan -1 sensor SO2 lainnya ditempatkan di parkiran balai desa. Petugas keselamatan EMCL yang memasang alat ini juga telah mengajarkan cara kerja alat tersebut. kepada pegawai desa, petugas kesehatan yang siaga di balai desa, dan bidan desa. Hal tersebut dilakukan agar jika terdeteksi gas, bisa langsung menghubungi EMCL. Diharapkan masyarakat sekitar tahu apa yang harus dilakukan.
Kepala Desa Mojodelik Yuntik Rahayu menyambut baik tindakan proaktif EMCL ini. Menurut dia, dengan adanya alat tersebut diharapkan bisa memberi peringatan dini kepada warga. Tapi jika ada kegiatan di dalam yang berpotensi adanya gas, tetap dikomunikasikan terlebih dahulu kepada kami. Ketua karang taruna Mojodelik, Adi Yusuf menanggapi positif pemasangan alat tersebut. Dia menuturkan, alat pendeteksi ini harus bisa digunakan sebagai pemberi tanda kepada warga sekitar.
