Penambang sumur tua Kawengan kecewa dengan sosialiasi peraturan dan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup yang digelar KSO PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Cepu - Geo Cepu Indonesia (GCI) selaku pengelola sumur tua. Sebab, dalam sosialisasi yang bertempat dalam Ruang Rest Room kantor Distrik 1 KSO PEP-GCI Kawengan Desa Banyu Urip, Kecamatan Senori itu, pihak pemerintah daerah (Pemda) tidak dilibatkan. Bahkan acara tersebut juga tertutup untuk media.
Perwakilan Kades Kawengan Kabupaten Bojonegoro, Lasmudi mengungkapkan kekecewaan hasil pertemuan dan sosialisasi kemarin. Selain tidak dihadiri pemerintah daerah, pada pertemuan itu perwakilan dari pihak penambang sumur tua tidak diberi kesempatan untuk memberi usulan kepada PT. GCI. Pokok intinya sumur tua akan diminta kembali. Penambang sumur tua diberi waktu untuk membereskan alat-alatnya. Untuk itu, jika sumur tua hendak ditertibkan dari penambang tradisional, ia meminta PT GCI memberikan pengganti berupa pekerjaan. Selama ini yang bekerja di perusahaan tersebut kebanyakan warga dari luar daerah. Pokoknya warga sekitar harus dipekerjakan.
