Langkah pemerintah menurunkan harga gas industri makin terang. Akhir bulan ini pemerintah memastikan menurunkan harga gas industri maksimal USD 6 per mmbtu. Insentif lebih dulu diterima sektor pupuk, petrokimia, dan baja. Menteri Perindustrian Airlangga Hartarto menyatakan, tiga sektor itu sudah disepakati. Harga gas industri untuk sektor-sektor strategis lain masih dibahas. Yakni, industri keramik, kaca, oleochemical, sarung tangan karet, pulp dan kertas, makanan dan minuman, tekstil dan alas kaki, serta farmasi.
Saat ini, tim kecil yang dibentuk sejumlah kementerian masih membicarakan berbagai strategi teknis untuk menurunkan harga gas industri. Tim diberi tenggat sampai 10 hari untuk memberikan rekomendasi. Tim segera bekerja memformulasikan harga setiap sektor dan regulasi di hulu, midstream, sampai pintu gerbang pabrik. Anggota tim meliputi sejumlah Direktorat Jenderal di Kementerian Perindustrian, Direktorat Jenderal di Kementerian ESDM, deputi Kementerian Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN), hingga wakil dari Kementerian Keuangan.
Sesuai dengan satan Menko Perekonomian Darmin Nasution, seluruh anggota tim merupakan pejabat eselon I dan eselon II dari berbagai kementerian. Akhir November selesai, implementasi 1 Januari 2017 untuk seluruhnya.
