January, ICP Up Thin So US $ 51,88 Per Barrels

The average price of crude oil Indonesia (Indonesian Crude Price / ICP) in January stood at US $ 51.88 per barrel, up slightly from December US $ 51.09 per barrel. While the price of light sweet crude oil (SLC) also rose from US $ 52.62 per barrel to US $ 53.11 per barrel.

Increased ICP is in line with the average price of crude oil in the international market. In January, the price of Brent (ICE) rose from US $ 54.92 per barrel to US $ 55.45 per barrel, WTI (NYMEX) rose from US $ 52.17 per barrel to US $ 52.61 per barrel, and the OPEC Basket rose from US $ 51.74 per barrel to US $ 52.41 per barrel.

According to the Oil Price Team Indonesia, the decline in crude oil prices in the international market due to declining production and rising demand. Based on the publication of the OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) in January, global oil production fell by 300 thousand bpd to 96.92 million barrels per day (bpd). While the publication of the IEA (International Energy Agency) recorded a decline in world oil supplies amounted to 630 thousand bpd to 97.63 million bpd.

"On the other hand, the publication of OPEC projected world crude demand in 2017 was revised up by 40 thousand bpd to 95.6 million bpd," said Tim Price of Oil Indonesia.

In addition, rising oil prices also affected by the world economic growth forecast for this year, which rose from 0.1% to 3.2%, the weakening of the US dollar against other major world currencies, and the decline in commercial stocks of developed countries in November 2016 down from the previous month to 2,993 million barrels.

Lodging Asia-Pacific region, Indonesia Oil Price Team adds, is also influenced by several factors. First, the growth of oil in Japan and India in November 2016 compared to the previous year. Rata-rata harga minyak mentah Indonesia (Indonesian Crude Price/ ICP) pada Januari lalu tercatat sebesar US$ 51,88 per barel, naik tipis dari Desember US$ 51,09 per barel. Sementara harga minyak sweet light crude (SLC) juga naik dari US$ 52,62 per barel menjadi US$ 53,11 per barel.

Peningkatan ICP ini sejalan dengan rata-rata harga minyak mentah utama di pasar internasional. Pada Januari lalu, harga minyak Brent (ICE) naik dari US$ 54,92 per barel menjadi US$ 55,45 per barel, WTI (Nymex) naik dari US$ 52,17 per barel menjadi US$ 52,61 per barel, dan Basket OPEC naik dari US$ 51,74 per barel menjadi US$ 52,41 per barel. 

Menurut Tim Harga Minyak Indonesia, penurunan harga minyak mentah utama di pasar internasional disebabkan oleh penurunan produksi dan naiknya permintaan. Berdasarkan publikasi OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) pada Januari lalu, produksi minyak dunia turun sebesar 300 ribu bph menjadi 96,92 juta barel per hari (bph). Sementara publikasi IEA (International Energy Agency) mencatat penurunan pasokan minyak dunia sebesar 630 ribu bph menjadi 97,63 juta bph.

“Di sisi lain, publikasi OPEC memproyeksikan permintaan minyak mentah dunia pada 2017 direvisi naik sebesar 40 ribu bph menjadi 95,6 juta bph,” kata Tim Harga Minyak Indonesia. 

Selain itu, kenaikan harga minyak juga dipengaruhi oleh proyeksi pertumbuhan ekonomi dunia pada tahun ini yang naik dari 0,1% menjadi 3,2%, pelemahan Dolar Amerika Serikat terhadap mata uang utama dunia lainnya, dan penurunan stok komersial negara-negara maju pada November 2016 turun dari bulan sebelumnya menjadi 2.993 juta barel.

     Khusus Kawasan Asia Pasifik, Tim Harga Minyak Indonesia menambahkan, juga dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor. Pertama, meningkatnya pertumbuhan minyak di Jepang dan India pada November 2016 dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya. Rincinya, masing-masing naik 170 ribu bph menjadi 3,8 juta bph di Jepang dan bertambah 500 ribu bph menjadi 4,67 juta bph di India.

“Kemudian faktor lainnya yaitu naiknya permintaan Ampol Australia akan minyak mentah Vietnamese Grade yang disebabkan oleh kebutuhan variasi suplai kilang Australia,” tutur Tim Harga Minyak Indonesia.

     Faktor lainnya adalah naiknya Combined crude oil throughput kilang-kilang minyak di Taiwan pada akhir Januari 2017 menjadi 880 ribu bph. Terakhir, kenaikan harga minyak di Asia Pasifik juga disebabkan oleh publikasi Caixin yang mencatat composite output purchasing managers index (PMI) Cina pada Desember 2016 meningkat 0,6 poin dibandingkan November 2016 menjadi 53,5 poin, yang merupakan pencapaian tertinggi dalam 45 bulan terakhir.
