Supplies Become Attractive To Investors Petrochemicals
The construction plan petrochemical plant in Tuban received a positive response from the Indonesia Association of Olefin, Aromatic and Plastic Indonesia (INAplas). Association hopes the government to ensure supply and price of gas being the main attraction petrochemical investors safely.
Secretary General INAplas Dawn Budiyono expect development Masela make the supply of gas and the price is competitive. Industrial gas prices should ideally assess USD 3.5 per mmbtu. "If the price (of gas, Red) USD 3.5, equal to the state revenue if the state selling price of USD 6. Thus, there is no problem in the development of the Masela. Importantly, there is no certainty the stock and the price formula "he said.
According to him, a number of investors have expressed interest in building a petrochemical plant that uses the resources of the Masela block. "We were invited to meet several times to discuss the issue of the Masela block. We are interested for no warranty number of quantity and price" he said.
The government is expected to prepare transport infrastructure for the transport of industrial production. The trick expressway connecting the sea to the Masela so that transportation costs can be more affordable. "If there is a marine highway, so it does not matter. Because, cruise to eastern Indonesia could bring food raw materials and shipping to the west could bring the raw material polymer".
Employers hope that the government is serious in plans to develop the petrochemical industry in the country. Because, for 50 percent of industrial products such as ethylene still be imported from other countries. Vice Chairman INAplas Suhat Miharso adding ethylene needs in the country reached 1.6 million tons per year. Meanwhile, domestic production reached 860 thousand tons per year. "Approximately only 50 percent. The rest must be imported from Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
With the construction of the refinery in Tuban and Bontang integrated with the petrochemical industry as well as the expansion of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical, employers expect no additional ethylene production to 3 million tons in 2025.

Industri Plastik Minta Pasokan Gas Masela
Suplai Menjadi Daya Tarik Investor Petrokimia
