Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan meminta penetapan harga gas di Sumatra Utara ditetapkan secara wajar. Tujuannya agar harga listrik yang dihasilkan dari gas tersebut bisa lebih murah. Permintaan Jonan disampaikan saat berkunjung ke Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Gas (PLTG) Belawan, Sumatera Utara, Jumat (31/3). "Tujuannya agar harga listrik lebih murah dan terjangkau untuk masyarakat," kata Jonan.
Menurut Jonan, pihak yang terkait harga gas belajar dari bisnis jalan tol, yakni yang membayar adalah kendaraan yang melintas. "Kalau di industri energi sebaiknya begitu, pembayaran sesuai gas yang lewat,” kata Jonan.
Jika gas yang lewat pipa sepi, harus ada solusi dari perusahaan pengelola meningkatkan arus gas bisa ramai. Terkait formula harga gas ini, Jonan meminta Dirjen Migas bertemu kembali dengan stakei holder seperti PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk, dan PT Pertanuna Gas (Pertagas). "Sebaiknya Dirjen Migas duduk lagi mengundang PLN, PGN, Pertagas untuk dibicarakan lagi. Yang fair aja, saya tahu badan usaha membuat keuntungan, tapi, ya, Wajar saja", kata Jonan.
Sejatinya Kementerian ESDM telah mengatur soal gas di Sumatra Utara lewat Keputusan Menteri ESDM No 434/2017. Dengan Keputusan Menteri tersebut, harga gas di Sumatra Utara turun menjadi US$ 9,95 per mmbtu, dari sebelumnya US$ 13,38 per mmbtu, berlaku mulai 1 Februari 2017.
