The Sumpal Compression Project (Sumpal Compression Project) project in the Corridor Block, Muba District, South Sumatra was completed three months earlier than the target. The inauguration of the project was undertaken by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan accompanied by Head of SKK Migas Amien Sunaryadi and President Director of ConocoPhillips (Grissik) Indonesia Ltd., Bijan Agarwal on May 21st yesterday.
The inaugurated project includes a total compression system level of 3 units of Gas Turbine Compressor (GTC) totaling 24,000 Horse Power, 2 units of Gas Turbine Power Generation each 1 MW, Process Control Room and Safety Instrumented System instrumentation and electrical, and Expansion of the operating area.
Jonan appreciated the success of the project in addition to faster than target, also completed in 3,248,149 working hours with zero accident. He also reminded that safety is number one, without the safety guarantee of the world's best sons and daughters are reluctant to work in the field anymore

Agarwal asserted that the project does not interfere with routine operations of production operations (no lost production opportunity). Sumpal Compression Project successfully optimizes the production volume from 265 MMSCFD to 310 MMSCFD. The project is projected to be completed with a cost of 25 percent below the approved Authorization for Expenditure (AF E) value of US $ 222.9 million to US $ 163.6 million.

Proyek kompresi Lapangan Sumpal (Sumpal Compression Project) di Blok Corridor, Kabupaten Muba, Sumatera Selatan selesai tiga bulan lebih cepat dari target. Proyek yang dioperasikan Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS) ConocoPhillips telah beroperasi pada April 2017 dari rencana awal Juli tahun ini.
Peresmian proyek itu dilakukan oleh Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan didampingi Kepala SKK Migas Amien Sunaryadi dan Presiden Direktur ConocoPhillips (Grissik) Indonesia Ltd., Bijan Agarwal pada 21 Mei kemarin.
Proyek yang diresmikan tersebut meliputi satu tingkat sistem kompresi 3 unit Gas Turbine Compressor (GTC) total 24.000 Horse Power, 2 unit Gas Turbine Power Generation masing-masing 1 MW, ruang kendali (Process Control System dan Safety Instrumented System) instrumentasi dan elektrikal, dan perluasan area operasi.
Jonan mengapresiasi keberhasilan proyek yang selain lebih cepat dari target, juga diselesaikan dalam 3.248.149 jam kerja dengan zero accident. Dia juga mengingatkan bahwa keselamatan adalah nomor satu, tanpa jaminan keselamatan putra-putri terbaik dunia enggan bekerja di lapangan lagi
“Generasi sekarang, kalau bekerja di perusahaan yang tidak mengutamakan safety, pasti tidak mau. Berapa pun penghasilannya. Penting sekali industri ini tetap seperti ini, supaya menarik generasi muda,” kata Jonan.
Jonan juga mengapresiasi dua hal lain dari Sumpal Compression Project, melibatkan tenaga kerja lokal dan efisiensi biaya produksi. “Produk migas tidak ada yang bisa menentukan harganya. Kalau kita tidak bisa menentukan harga jual, kita harus efisien. Jadi ada empat hal yang saya apresiasi, safew, community development, cost efficiency, dan ketepatan waktu,” ujar mantan Menteri Perhubungan tersebut.
Sementara itu Bijan Agarwal menuturkan proyek ini dilaksanakan pada area brown Held tanpa mengganggu kegiatan rutin operasi produksi, meminimalisir gangguan ke masyarakat sekitar, dan melibatkan tenaga kerja lokal/nasional. “Sumpal Compression Project memiliki presentasi TKDN (Tingkat Kandungan- Dalam Negeri) sebesar 58,96 persen,” ujarnya.
Agarwal menegaskan bahwa proyek ini tidak mengganggu kegiatan rutin operasi produksi (no lost production opportunity). Sumpal Compression Project berhasil mengoptimalkan volume produksi dari 265 MMSCFD menjadi 310 MMSCFD. Proyek ini diproyeksikan selesai dengan nilai biaya 25 persen di bawah nilai Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) yang disetujui, yaitu sebesar US$ 222,9 juta menjadi US$ 163,6 juta.
