PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) will begin the construction of the Grissik - Pusri open access gas pipeline to supply gas for energy and raw materials of PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) in South Sumatra.
This is a manifestation of the strong commitment of PT Pertamina subsidiaries to participate in realizing national food security. The commencement of this project is marked by a Kick-off Meeting and the signing of technical documents implemented in Lhokseumawe.
In the construction of the gas pipeline Pertagas took the Consortium of PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) and PT Wahanakarsa Swandiri As project contractor.
"The Grissik - Pusri gas pipeline will be built with a diameter of 20 inches over 176 kilometers (km), passing through two districts of Banyuasin and Musi Banyuasin and a town in South Sumatra, Palembang.The pipeline extends from Grissik Gas Plant ConocoPhillips ( COPI) in Grissik, Musi Banyuasin to Pusri plant in Palembang City.
In the first year, the volume of gas distribution to meet the needs of Pusri is 30 MMSCFD and the next phase will increase to 70 MMSCFD. The gas source for this segment comes from Grissik Field COPI with Pusri as its main consumers.
"The project is targeted to be completed within 11 months, so that gas supply for PUSRI factory needs can be fulfilled soon," Pertagas President Director Suko Hartono said in a written statement in Lhokseumawe, Wednesday (19/7).
Suko said the selection of Rekind as a consortium of contractors because the company is also part of SOE Group has had long experience in building various pipeline projects in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Tasks and Director of Operations & Project Rekind Jakub Tarigan expressed his gratitude for the trust given by Pertagas.
"Hopefully this good synergy can produce quality work, on time and zero accident," he said.
With the construction of this new pipeline, it will increase the length of the Pertagas transmission gas pipeline network which currently has reached about 2,300 Km. The presence of this pipeline is also expected not only to increase PUSRI production but also to provide certainty of energy supply in South Sumatra region for industrial and household needs.

Pertagas Mulai Bangun Pipa Gas Jalur Grissik-Pusri
PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) segera memulai pembangunan pipa gas open access ruas Grissik - Pusri guna memasok gas untuk kebutuhan energi dan bahan baku PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) di Sumatera Selatan.
Hal ini sebagai Wujud komitmen kuat anakusaha PT Pertamina untuk berperan serta dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan nasional. Dimulainya proyek ini ditandai dengan Kick-off Meeting dan penandatanganan dokumen teknis yang dilaksanakan di Lhokseumawe.
Dalam pembangunan pipa gas tersebut Pertagas menggandeng Konsorsium PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) dan PT Wahanakarsa Swandiri
sebagai kontraktor pelaksana proyek.
"Ruas pipa gas Grissik - Pusri ini akan dibangun dengan diameter 20 inchi sepanjang 176 kilometer (Km). Pipa tersebut melewati dua kabupaten yakni Banyuasin dan Musi Banyuasin serta satu kota di Sumatera Selatan yakni Palembang. Ruas pipa itu membentang dari Grissik Gas Plant ConocoPhillips (COPI) di Grissik, Musi Banyuasin hingga ke plant Pusri di Kota Palembang.
Pada tahun pertama, volume penyaluran gas untuk memenuhi kebutuhan Pusri adalah sebesar 30 MMSCFD dan tahap selanjutnya akan bertambah menjadi 70 MMSCFD. Adapun sumber gas untuk ruas ini berasal dari Lapangan Grissik COPI dengan Pusri sebagai konsumen utamanya.
“Proyek ini ditargetkan selesai dalam ll bulan, sehingga pasokan gas untuk kebutuhan pabrik PUSRI dapat segera terpenuhi,” kata Presiden Direktur Pertagas Suko Hartono dalam keterangan tertulis di Lhokseumawe, Rabu (19/ 7).
Suko menuturkan pemilihan Rekind sebagai konsorsium kontraktor lantaran perusahaan yang juga bagian dari BUMN Group ini sudah memiliki pengalaman panjang dalam membangun berbagai proyek pipanisasi di Indonesia.
Sementara itu Pelaksana Tugas Direktur Utama yang juga Direktur Operasi & Proyek Rekind Jakub Tarigan menyampaikan terima kasih atas kepercayaan yang diberikan Pertagas.
“Semoga sinergi baik ini dapat menghasilkan pekerjaan yang berkualitas, tepat waktu dan zero accident,” ujarnya.
Dengan dibangunnya ruas pipa baru ini maka akan menambah panjang jaringan pipa gas transmisi Pertagas yang saat ini sudah mencapai sekitar 2.300 Km. Kehadiran ruas pipa ini juga diharapkan tidak hanya meningkatkan produksi PUSRI namun juga sekaligus bisa memberikan kepastian pasokan energi kewilayah Sumatera Selatan untuk kebutuhan industri maupun rumah tangga.
