Petronas Booster Bukit Ketapang Oil Production

Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) will increase oil production in Ketapang Working Field (Old Hill Field Working Area) this year to exceed the production target of 15,000 barrels per day.

"The target is set by the Indonesian government through SKK Migas," said Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs & Administration PC Muriah, Andiono Setiawan, in Surabaya.

Working Area Petronas Bukit Tua Field

Andiono is optimistic, with the development of Petronas production which is one of the Malaysian companies that can maintain production from the Bukit Tua WK Ketapang field. It was based on performance since May 2015 when it first flowed petroleum in accordance with the target.

"Since the beginning of production in 2015, the production is very good, about 18,000 barrels per day or above the target set by the Government at that time as much as 16,000 barrels per day. Since there is a natural decline, the government is now targeting 15,000 bpd. Nevertheless, I wish I could reach about 16,000 bpd, "he said.

He said that the development is likely to increase gas production from Bukit Tua Field because currently, gas production is around 30 mmscfd which is channeled into Java Java (PJB) through Petrogas Jatim Utama (PJU). With this development, it is expected to increase gas production by about 15 mmscfd or become 45 mmscfd.

"Our party continues to commit to supporting the supply of electricity by PJB. The reliability of electricity is very important so that economic growth in East Java Region can be maintained even improved, "he said.

Since working on WK Ketapang, Petronas operations have shown very positive performance, even seven structures or wells have been drilled in that location. The result has then flowed through a 110 km seabed pipeline from an offshore receiving platform (ORF) located in Maspion Industrial Area (KIM), Manyar District, Gresik-East Java with a total storage capacity 70 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).

Petronas Tingkatkan Produksi Minyak Bukit Ketapang

mencapai sekitar 16.000 bph,” katanya.
