Through its subsidiary, PT Medco Energi Global, PT Medco Energy International Tbk (MEDC) is reportedly soon to carry out its corporate actions abroad. Namely, by acquiring oil and gas companies from the UK: Ophir Energy plc.
Reporting from Reuters, the acquisition will be carried out next month. Ophir Energy is currently discussing the possibility of this acquisition which reportedly will be made in cash.
If referring to Refiniv's data, Ophir Energy is an exploration and oil and gas product based in London, England. Oil and gas companies that focus on the Asia and Africa region have a market capitalization of 252.2 million pounds, equivalent to US $ 321.41 million.
Ophir Energy Plc said, PT Medco Energi Global has a deadline of January 28, 2019 to submit a bid, as well as the provisions of the acquisition in England.
"With Ophir's share price, the Ophir Board and Medco confirmed it was in the discussion stage for the possibility of Medco's cash offer for shares issued by Ophir," Ophir explained, as quoted from the company's official website.

Only, until this news was printed, an attempt to confirm KONTAN for the acquisition with Medco Energy International's Managing Director, Hilmi Panigoro, had not yet been answered. KONTAN's telephone and short messages have not been answered.
If referring to MEDC's quarter 2018 performance, the issuers engaged in the oil and gas exploration sector posted a significant increase in income, namely by 55% to US $ 757.37 million. In the same period last year, the company's revenue was US $ 597.81 million.
This increase in revenue made MEDC's net loss shrink to US $ 1.23 million. The same period the previous year, MEDC lost US $ 168.08 million.

Dilansir dari Reuters, akuisisi akan dilakukan bulan depan. Ophir Energy kini sedang mendiskusikan kemungkinan akuisisi ini yang kabarnya akan dilakukan secara tunai. Jika merujuk data Refiniv, Ophir Energy adalah perusahaan eksplorasi dan produk minyak dan gas berbasis di London, lnggris. Perusahaan migas yang fokus di Wilayah Asia dan Afrika ini memiliki kapitalisasi pasar 252,2 juta poundsterling atau setara US$ 321,41 juta.
Ophir Energy Plc menyebut, PT Medco Energi Global memiliki batas waktu hingga 28 Januari 2019 untuk mengajukan penawaran, sebagaimana ketentuan akuisisi di lnggris.
"Dengan harga saham Ophir, Dewan Ophir dan Medco mengkofirmasi sedang dalam tahap diskusi untuk kemungkinan penawaran tunai Medco untuk saham yang dikeluarkan Ophir," terang Ophir, seperti dikutip dari situs resmi perusahaan.
Hanya, sampai berita ini naik cetak, upaya konfirmasi KONTAN atas akuisisi itu dengan Direktur Utama Medco Energy lnternasional, Hilmi Panigoro belum berbalas. Telepon dan pesan pendek KONTAN belum dijawab.
Jika merujuk kinerja MEDC kuartal Ill 2018, emiten yang bergerak di sektor eksplorasi minyak dan gas ini membukukan kenaikan pendapatan signifikan, yaitu sebesar 55% menjadi US$ 757,37 juta. Pada periode yang sama tahun lalu, pendapatan perusahaan ini US$ 597,81 juta.
Kenaikan pendapatan ini membuat rugi bersih MEDC mengecil menjadi US$ 1,23 juta. Periode yang sama tahun sebelumnya, MEDC merugi US$ 168,08 juta.
