Pertamina Receives 2.5 million Barrels from the Rokan Block



PT Pertamina (Persero) purchased the initial lifting of crude oil from PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia in the Rokan Block. This oil will be processed at Pertamina's domestic oil refinery. At the initial stage, namely during the period January to June 2019, the estimated volume is estimated at 2.5 million barrels per month.

PT Pertamina's Managing Director, Nicke Widyawati, explained that Pertamina would try to absorb as much as possible the KKKS's crude oil to meet domestic refinery needs so that it could reduce crude oil imports.

"We thank Chevron Pacific for achieving this agreement. The relationship and collaboration of B to B between the two parties is expected to be increasingly tight, "Nicke said.

The management of Chevron Pacific Indonesia also welcomed the collaboration with Pertamina.

"With this cooperation, we formally apply the regulation on the sale of crude oil to contractors for domestic needs," said Albert Simanjuntak, President Director of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia.

In addition to Chevron Pacific, Pertamina has reached an agreement with other oil and gas contractors so that it can reduce imports of crude oil and condensate by around 115,000 barrels per day to 250,000 barrels per day. Pertamina imports crude oil and condensate at around 342,000 barrels per day.

PT Pertamina (Persero) membeli lifting perdana minyak mentah (crude oil) bagian PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia di Blok Rokan. Minyak ini akan diolah di kilang minyak dalam negeri milik Pertamina. Pada tahap awal, yakni selama periode Januari hingga Juni 2019, estimasi volumenya diperkirakan mencapai 2,5 juta barel per bulan.

“Kami mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Chevron Pacific karena tercapainya kesepakatan ini. Hubungan dan kerjasama B to B antar kedua belah pihak diharapkan semakin erat,” ujar Nicke.

Manajemen Chevron Pacific Indonesia juga menyambut baik kerjasama dengan Pertamina. 

"Dengan adanya kerja sama ini, maka kami secara resmi menerapkan peraturan penjualan minyak mentah bagian kontraktor untuk kebutuhan domestik,” kata Albert Simanjuntak, Presiden Direktur PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia.

Selain dengan Chevron Pacific, Pertamina telah mencapai kesepakatan dengan kontraktor migas lainnya sehingga dapat mengurangi impor minyak mentah dan kondensat sekitar 115.000 barel per hari menjadi 250.000 barel per hari. Pertamina mengimpor minyak mentah dan kondensat sekitar 342.000 barel per hari.
